Avalokiteshvara, the patron Bodhisattva of Tibet is the central figure here. Directly below him we see King Srong Tsen Gampo and his Nepalese and Chinese wives. (see Origins of Tibetan Art, introduction this site). This is the earliest carbon dated Tibetan painting. The carbon-14 date was 1100 CE +or- 50 years. M. Mokotoff 11-97
