The historical Buddha Shakyamuni with celestial bodhisattva attendents shown amidst vignettes that depict scenes from the Buddha's previous lives. It is interesting to note that the arcades directly surrounding the central triad depict 17 arhats and the sage Nagarjuna. Hashang Mahayana usually included in the "18" arhats is missing.
